The conditions were completely opposite to last years event that was run in very wet and muddy conditions following the severe storms the previous day. This time the sun was out and by the time the runners reached the Corniche they were really feeling the heat.

As with last year only 1 team failed to show and there were a couple of additional entries on the day..

24 Teams and 1 Bike Group participated.

The race route was very different from previous years.

Due to the amount of construction work South of the Garhoud Bridge it was not possible to run any of this area. On that basis it was decided to have the start and finish near the Al Boom Tourist Village. Even from this area there was much road work going on along the first stage and Metro work on the final stage.

To try an keep the relay to a similar length the route took in the Corniche up to the Al Hamriya Port. The track went Past the Hyatt Regency and then through the old fruit and veggie market on the way to Change 3 before heading back along the main road to the entrance of the Shindaga Pedestrian Tunnel. This was done twice.

The four sections that followed the Creek were by far the best part of the event.

Next year we feel sure that much of the construction area will again be available so the event will regain its traditions.

The RA of the day was Sucker who had many stories of the mornings relay.

He then awarded Prizes as per the results above. (carefully selected cases of beer, Champagne and Wine)

A couple of cases of beer were given to the Mirdif Milers A for their fastest overall time.

A special award was given to Jacqui and her partner because she got lost and came in last with an overall time of 4 hours.

The second prize in the Open Fastest was given to Team Blaze as Hubert's Team were not present at the awards.

The Creek Hash thanks everybody who participated and to the Marshals and Helpers who helped keep this great event alive despite the changed conditions.

See you all, plus more in 2008.
