Around 30 have now signed up for the
First Irish Creek Hash---
only
10 months to go.
Several are already asking
how to get there as they want to
start arranging their holidays for next
year and booking flights etc.......

If you arrive into Belfast (or Larne)
either flying or by ferry you should
visit Bushmills Distillery and the
Giants Causeway on the way to
Donegal--or on the way back--allow
plenty time for both.
The north Antrim coast is a very scenic
drive and worth taking the time to
visit.
If you want to go straight to
Donegal and spend all your time
there--I would recommend this
option--there is plenty to see.
Donegal is the second biggest county
in Ireland and has the longest
coastline--240km.
There are some great walking trails
in the mountains and there are
several inhabited islands off its
coast. You can take your car on to
Arranmore Island but Tory Island is
a bit more rugged and only serviced
by a passenger ferry. I spent a day
on Tory in August and and will go
back there soon again. I love the
place.
Errigal is the second highest
mountain in Ireland and is not a
difficult climb but well worth the
effort as the views on a clear day
are awesome.
Glenveigh National Park has a
beautiful castle and gardens and the
surrounding mountains are home to
red deer and the Golden Eagle,
recently introduced back into
Ireland from Scotland. It has one of
the walking trails. The castle and
grounds were last owned my "McElhinney"
of Tobasco sauce fame but he left it
to the state who now manage it.
Slieve League has the highest sea
cliffs in Europe. Great walking
country and has a famous trail
called "one man's path" althougt
some refer to it as "dead man's
path". Only about 40 minutes from
Ardara--go there to clear the
head on the Sunday morning.
Search for all these places and more
on the net and you will get loads of
more information.
